River Cottage, a beautiful holiday retreat, sits on the banks of the River Greta in the charming market town of Keswick.
Sumptuous furnishings, fine fabrics, sparkling chandeliers and modern art bring more than a touch of glamour to this bijou residence.
River Cottage may have been built in the 1930s, but its decadent interior and state of the art fittings bring it gracefully up to date.
Four people can enjoy a luxury self catering stay in the heart of the English Lake District.
The large private garden is designed to make the most of the natural beauty of the setting. A terraced seating area gives you the chance to watch the wildlife in and around the riverbank – perfect for spotting the Kingfishers. It’s a peaceful and quiet place and the sound of running water makes it tranquil and calming.
A number of interesting trees are in the garden, which when complemented by the slate chippings gives a Japanese feel to it. Among the specimens are a monkey puzzle tree, Japanese Maple and Japanese Acer which when coupled with the fine azalea offer a combination of colour, shade and interest to gardeners.
If you bring bicycles on your holiday, they can be safely stored in the garden shed.
